We process personal data that we collect directly from you, or that you transmit to us yourself or that we cull from publicly accessible sources (such as telephone directories, registration registers, the press, the Internet, social media channels and other media) or have acquired and are allowed to process.
If you have registered in journalist/influencer databases (e.g., the influencer contact manager from Meltwater), we process your data, which we are permitted to take from these sources as part of the respective assignment.
Relevant personal data categories can include:
Personal data (name, profession/industry and comparable data)
Contact details (address, email address, telephone number and comparable data)
Profile data from journalist/influencer databases (core industry, data from social media channels, such as user names, followers, etc., previous publications, main topics)
We process personal data in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the new Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG new) and other applicable data protection regulations (details below).
Purposes in the context of a legitimate interest from us or third parties (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR)
If you have not provided us with your data yourself, we will process your data in order to protect our legitimate interests or that of a third party, in particular to:
get in touch with you and send you press releases
enrich our data, e.g., by using or researching publicly available data;
for statistical evaluations or market analysis
Purposes that are part of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 GDPR)
If you have registered with us directly for the press distribution list, we process your data based on your voluntary consent in order to provide you with press or social media releases.
If you no longer wish to receive our press releases, you can unsubscribe from the mailing list by clicking on the unsubscribe link within the message.
In addition, you can revoke your consent at any time by stating the brand/distributor from which you want to unsubscribe by going to: datenschutz@erwinhymergroup.com.
Basically, the revocation of consent is not retroactive and only has a future effect. Processing that took place before the revocation remains unaffected and remains lawful.
Automated decision making (including profiling)
In accordance with Article 22 GDPR, we do not use purely automated decision-making procedures. If we did use this type of procedure in individual cases in the future, we would inform you about this separately, provided that this is required by law.
Within our company, only those internal parties or organizational units that need your data to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations will see it, or who need it as part of processing and implementing our legitimate interest.
We would like to point out that each Erwin Hymer Group brand maintains its own press mailing lists or databases. The respective brands themselves will generate distributors based on their own preferences if data sets from external sources (e.g., Meltwater) are used.
Your data will only be passed on to external parties:
to the extent that external service companies process data on our behalf as processors or function holders (e.g., data centers, IT support/maintenance/IT applications, customer management, letter shops, marketing, media technology, telephony, website management, courier services, logistics)
based on our legitimate interest or the legitimate interest of the third party for the purposes mentioned (e.g., to authorities, debt collection, lawyers, courts, committees and supervisory bodies)
if you have given us consent to transfer it to third parties.
Otherwise, we will not pass your data on to third parties. When we commission service providers as part of order processing, your data is subject to the same security standards with them as it is with us. In other cases, recipients are only allowed to use your data for the purposes for which it were transmitted to these third parties.
No data is transmitted to third countries, i.e., countries outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA).
We generally delete personal data if there is no need for further storage or if you revoke your consent.
