As the first series on the market, the Hymbermobil B-class ModernComfort is based on the chassis-cab variant of the new Mercedes Sprinter. Customers of the premium vehicle benefit from a reduction in weight and significantly increased security and driving comfort.
Hymer is the first manufacturer to offer motorhomes based on the chassis-cab variant of the new Sprinter. The chassis-cab variant of the transporter legend, newly developed by Mercedes-Benz Vans, is combined with the award-winning SLC chassis of Hymer in integrated and semi-integrated models with 580 and 680 layouts. Thus, the new motorhome generation provides an especially light and stable structure as well as additional security and driving comfort.
The new B-class ModernComfort combines the experience of two premium manufacturers, thereby creating a wholly unique motorhome that has never existed before in this form. A motorhome series of the 3.5-ton class has been created, which, despite its 7-metre length, has an empty weight of less than 2,900 kilogrammes. As the first manufacturer in years, Hymer has deceeded this limit with a semi-integrated model based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
The engines of the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are characterised by strength, agility and comfort, which above all applies to the exclusive motorhome engine, the 177-HP diesel engine. Fast travelling speeds with maximum noise and driving quality as well as optimised fuel consumption are possible in combination with the new 6-speed manual transmission or the, for the first time available, 9G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission with torque converter. Numerous assistance systems such as the active distance assistance system DISTRONIC, crosswind assist and active brake assist ensure a high degree of safety.
The design of the B-class ModernComfort sets new standards both on the inside and outside. The new spatial concept with its architectural lines and intricately crafted details creates a unique atmosphere. Elements integrated in the furniture – such as the LED TV – and the continuous living room floor with indirect lighting enhance the overall aesthetic appearance.
Due to its clever floor plan, the smaller 580 layout already offers plenty of space with a length of 6.99 metres and a width of 2.29 metres. The larger 680 layout with a size 7.39 by 2.29 metres features some special highlights. Thus, instead of a comfort bathroom, a spacious bathroom with a generously designed shower stall is located in the middle.
The models also have a fascinating exterior design. LED fog lights with integrated bending light are seamlessly integrated into the front. The catch basin in black diffuse optics below the rear-light carrier follows the design of the bow and ensures an unmistakable sporty-elegant overall appearance. As a whole, the structure follows the line and form of Mercedes-Benz.
Travel mobilists can be even more independent due to the installation of the Hymer Smart Battery system. The innovative energy system combines lithium and lead-acid batteries and intelligently regulates the charging status, which ensures even more self-sufficiency on trips.
The new B-class ModernComfort is available at the end of August 2018.
